Job Description
We are looking for an experienced and dedicated Project Manager to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for leading and coordinating large, complex customer-facing projects, ensuring smooth delivery from start to finish. As the primary liaison between engineering teams and customers, you will oversee all aspects of project delivery.
You will work on high-profile projects that involve the delivery of Ubuntu images across a wide range of devices, including robots, edge gateways, IoT devices, PCs, and automotive systems. The role offers the opportunity to collaborate with internal teams, customers, and external partners (such as Silicon vendors, OEMs, and ODMs) to ensure successful project execution.
What You'll Do:
Manage projects throughout their entire lifecycle, ensuring goals are met for both the client and the organization.
Deliver engineering professional services, including custom board enablement and Ubuntu image delivery.
Collaborate with engineering teams to develop and implement project statements of work.
Create and maintain project-specific schedules and plans.
Obtain client approval for schedules and deliverables.
Ensure timely, on-budget delivery of projects within scope.
Mitigate project risks and drive technical issue resolution.
Maintain regular communication with clients and internal stakeholders.
Manage critical third-party deliverables and ensure they align with the project schedule.
Keep management informed on project progress and any potential obstacles.
Identify custom engineering requests outside of existing contracts and advocate for relevant technologies.
Be flexible with working hours to support various time zones and accommodate global projects.
Manage multiple projects simultaneously, balancing priorities effectively.
What We're Looking for:
Proven experience in project management, particularly in delivering engineering services and managing cross-functional teams.
Strong background in managing projects with global teams (Asia, Europe, Americas).
A degree in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics is preferred.
Solid knowledge of Linux and the open-source software ecosystem, along with an understanding of computer architecture.
Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with a strong command of English.
A natural leader with experience building and nurturing successful relationships with both internal teams and demanding clients.
PMP/PMI or PRINCE2 Practitioner Certification is a plus.
Willingness to work non-standard hours to support global projects.
Ability to travel up to 4 times per year for internal events.
